Stuff To Check Out November Edition
It’s been quite a while since I did a post like this, but decided to reboot it.
First up, Matthew McConaughey’s appearance on The Tim Ferriss Show was just phenomenal. I actually re-listened to it and took notes because there was just so much wisdom in there.
The Doc Rivers episode on Netflix’s series The Playbook was also excellent. I lost it when he talked about his Celtics players celebrating as if they won a championship after they won a game he had to miss due to his father’s passing. He talks at length about how this long held idea that you shouldn’t get close to your players is terrible advice. Yeah, some players are inevitably going to let you down and it’ll suck but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go all in on each player. If you’re not going to do that, why coach?
Here’s a quick thread on some of the positional checkpoints I look for when throwers perform the pivot pick drill.
After watching The Last Dance, I decided to grab Phil Jackson’s book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. He is one interesting dude and any coach could learn a lot from him.
